Whether you love him or hate him having former president Bill Clinton visit our city is pretty neat. This past week as reported by the Telegram.com and NECN he spoke at the Boys and Girls Club of Worcester.
"The club was built in 2006 on a former brownfields site that was developed, in part, with federal funding funneled to the city during Mr. Clinton’s second term." Telegram.com
Awards were given out to club members and President Clinton gave a speech emphasizing how you can choose your path regardless of your circumstances. Given the recent pellet gun incident it would be nice to think that the youth of the Worcester community were listening.
Clinton was also here to raise funds for Congressman Jim McGovern's reelection bid. The event was held at the DCU center and was criticized by some who are appalled at someone being able to charge so much in order to raise over $100,000 for McGovern's campaign.
Looking at the video courtesy of NECN you have to admire his actions. Inspiring our youth is one of the most important things anyone can do.
