Hanover Theatre Hosts Miss Massachusetts Pageant

Last Friday The Hanover Theatre hosted the Miss Massachusetts Scholarship Pageant.  The winner Miss Fall River walked away with a $7,500 scholarship.  This is the first time that the pageant has been held in Worcester.  It used to be held in southern Massachusetts in New Bedford and Fall River(more recently).  Pageant organizers hope to broaden the appeal of the event by hosting it in Central Massachuesetts where it is more accessible to all Massachusetts residents.

The video I am posting highlights one of the contestants from Shrewsbury who thinks her youth will add more to the pageant.  The winner Miss Fall River is a graduate of Brandeis according to the Telegram.

The Hanover Theatre is located at 2 Southbridge St in Worcester and is the performing arts center of the Central Massachusetts region.  Their 2009-2010 Broadway series shows include:

• The Wizard of Oz
• Legally Blonde
• A Chorus Line
• Riverdance
• Disney’s Beauty and the Beast

We are lucky to have access to these types of shows and many others in Downtown Worcester.  The subscription option seems to be the best choice if you love the theatre!
