KidsFest and Free Museum Day in Worcester
Wachusett Mountain is hosting one of it’s festivals this weekend. The spotlight will be on the kids with the 23rd Annual Kidsfest Event. Though the nights are starting to feel a little chilly ski weather is still a long ways away. In the meantime those of us with children can enjoy some “music, food and fun” at Wachusett. Tickets are available in advance with a little savings to motivate you but please note the Festival 4-Pack is only available in advance.
Besides the usual festival fun and acts WXLO will be conducting “Wachusett’s Got Talent”. They will be crowning the winner at the festival. Registration is closed for this year but if you have a kid that has some sort of talent(singing, dancing…) this is something to keep in mind for next year. If your house is anything like mine my kids are obsessed with these talent shows so it would be neat to see one live.
Saturday is also Free Museum Day which is annual event sponsored by the Smithsonian. We have written about this in the past and it is a great way to visit not just Worcester Area Museums but those in other parts of Massachusetts as well. Many museums are participating including local favorites like:
Worcester Art Museum
Higgins Armory Museum
Ecotarium
The Higgins Armory Museum is being integrated into the Worcester Art Museum in January so this might be a great time to see the collection in it’s “original” form. I have included a video put up by the Telegram above. It seems that though we may miss the old building and displays the Worcester Art Museum wants to add to enjoyment and context of the Higgins Armory collection.
Please remember you need to sign up for the free tickets in advance at the Smithsonian site.
