2011 Update:  Taste of Shrewsbury Street will be taking place again on Tuesday June 21st, 2011.  The Shrewsbury Street Area Merchants Association continues to put on events to showcase the Shrewsbury Street businesses and this event in particular is one of their more popular ones.  People are usually ready to enjoy the promise of a more relaxed summer.  As of this writing more information can be found on this event page than last year’s Taste of Shrewsbury Street website.  That may change though as we get closer to the event.  Being able to buy the buttons online was definitely user friendly…

2010 Post:

Restaurants to showcase their offerings from Worcester’s well-known Shrewsbury Street this Tuesday, June 22nd.  For a $25 button you can visit around 35 restaurants who are offering tastes of some of their offerings.  This is a great chance to try out a new place.  The event takes place from 5-9pm.

The Taste of event also benefits charities which should make your eating guilt free for the evening.  There also is supposed to be some musical entertainment including the Italian Serenaders.  The festival continues to gather steam with so many restaurants that line this one mile stretch of Shrewsbury St.

Don’t forget that buttons are a little higher on the day of the event.  You can buy tickets directly on the Taste of Shrewsbury Street website where you can also find a list of all the restaurants participating.  4 hours may seem like a lot of time but time flies when you are having fun.  Plan where you want to start so that you get a chance to try something from the restaurants you really want to try.
