Wachusett Mountain Festival 2010

MusicFest WachusettMusicFest is taking place this Sunday at Mount Wachusett.  I know that some of you may be feeling the tease of the cooler crisper air with visions of skiing in your head but there is still some ways to go before we start getting snow here in New England.  Though Wachusett hopes to kick of the ski season in mid to late November the mountain has quite a few fall activities for those inside and outside of Central Massachusetts.

Last year we focused on the Kidsfest event that takes place the 18th and 19th but this year we wanted to spotlight the MusicFest which takes place this coming Sunday from 12-6pm.  This music festival will feature local music acts including:

  • Chris Fitz Band
  • Mission Hill
  • The Great Escape
  • Commander Cody

Brian Richard and Bruce Jacques will be performing on the side stage.

The event also features an “Ale Fest”, Chili CookOff and a Car Show for that will showcase both cars and motorcycles.  Prices range for $5 to $20 depending on whether you buy them in advance or at the door.  Buy tickets here.  They advise you to bring a blanket and a lawn chair.

Wachusett as 5 other events closing out the fall season featuring Kidsfest, Taste of Wachusett, the Ski and Board Swap on Columbus Day, An Apple Festival and an Autumn Wine Celebration.  Odds are you will be interested in attending one of them.  Wachusett Mountain is located in Princeton, Mass north of Worcester.  For more details on the remaining fall events at Wachusett visit their website.

If you are a Journey fan you may know that The Great Escape band is a Journey Tribute Band.  I confess sometimes I am stuck back in the 80’s.  They sound an awful lot like Journey.  Some of the videos on YouTube are rough but the music comes through.  Here is one that had the best sound though filming in a nightclub can be a challenge:

I hope to make it up there!
