Worcester Participating in Free Museum Day

Smithsonian Magazine is sponsoring free countrywide museum day this Saturday, September 26th. You will be able to get a free admission card for you and a guest to many of Massachusetts best museums, including most of the ones in Worcester.
Worcester does a lot to promote the arts in Central Massachusetts because it has many great destinations and events to enjoy them. The following Worcester destinations are participating in the Saturday event.
EcoTarium
The Ecotarium is a unique mix of aquarium, zoo and science museum. Admission is pretty reasonable at between $8-$10 but it’s pretty tough to beat a chance to go for free.
Higgins Armory Museum
Bringing fairy tales to life, the Higgins Armory Museum is not just for armor aficionados. Usual admission is also pretty reasonable ranging from $7-$9.
Worcester Historical Museum
Devoted to Worcester’s local history this is a great opportunity to explore Worcester’s rise during the industrial age as well as it’s part in the Civil War.
Worcester Art Museum
With an acclaimed collection of art ranging from paintings, sculptures and photographs the Worcester Art Museum is a gem for Central Massachusetts. They usually have free admission on Saturday mornings which is sponsored by the TJX companies. Admission for non-members ranges from $8-$10.
In order to participate in the free admission event for the Smithsonian Magazine you have to print out an admission card that you sign up for on their website. It is good for you and a guest.
Whether you visit this Saturday for free you can see that Worcester area museums are pretty reasonably priced so you can plan a visit anytime. Some even offer free admission to kids under 17 like the Worcester Art Museum.
