Worcester’s Hanover Theater Hosts Riverdance Farewell

If you weren’t from Worcester you might wonder why the farewell performances of Riverdance would be held here in Worcester.  Worcester Massachusetts has a very active Irish Population and even recently was visited by the Irish President.  It is more than appropriate that the performances of this tribute to Irish stepdancing happen at Worcester’s Hanover Theatre.  The Riverdance performances are quite “thunderous”.  You can literally feel the dance.

5 shows are being held this weekend April 9th, 10th and 11th.  Ticket prices range from $40 to $70 depending on the seat.  Discounts are also available for a variety of groups:

Full price tickets are $40, $50, $60, and $70, depending on seating location. Member ticket prices are $37, $47, $56, and $65, depending on seating location. 10% discount available for members, groups of 15 or more, corporate partners, kids, students, and WOO card holders. 15% discount available for groups of 50 or more.

The original Riverdance was performed all the way back in 1995 at the Point Theatre in Dublin.  At that time of course the famous Michael Flatley performed.  This is most likely your last chance to see Riverdance.  Buy tickets online through the Hanover Theatre.

I was going to include a couple of videos with some parts of the farewell tour press launch just to whet your appetite but I will have to link to them instead.  Please note, the audio quality on these was not that good so turn down your speakers.  It sounds like the microphone was right next to the speakers…enjoyable nonetheless though. Here is a Michael Flatley performance that I can embed…
