sevinhillsfoundationLast week Children’s Aid and Family Service opened a new $2.5 million facility in Fitchburg. Children’s Aid & Family Service is a non-profit organization owned by Seven Hills Foundation headquartered in Worcester. CAFS has offices in Worcester and Fitchburg and has been serving Central Mass since 1876. The Sentinel reported that the facility will serve about 87 kids and families with about 1000 in total using the center as a resource for the programs that CFAS provides.

Children’s Aid & Family Service’s mission is to provide the highest quality day care, social, and mental health services designed to strengthen families and individuals, build healthy relationships, and promote self-sufficiency throughout Central Massachusetts.Children’s Aid & Family Service’s current programs include a Child Care Center; Family Day Care; Child Care Resources; and a Family Counseling Center serving clients in the greater Fitchburg/Leominster communities.

The Seven Hill Foundation is one of the largest health and human services organization in Massachusetts.  In the 1950’s it’s focus started out primarily to support and find educational programs for children with special challenges.  It now has grown to support multiple affiliates and programs in the areas of family services, children’s services, housing, education, community services and healthcare services.

I found this story last Friday (World Smile Day) and I have to say it is heartwarming to know that organizations like Seven Hills exist to help those who can not help themselves…They accept donations..
